SIRRIS (Material Engineering)

The technological domains and associated expertise covered by SIRRIS are the fields of materials, innovative and efficient manufacturing. It is clear that the present project mainly concerns the processing branch of the Institute where the following expertise will be particularly pointed out: Composites and Plastics & Hybrids Engineering. In this idea specialized SIRRIS’ engineers and technicians propose up to date competencies in domains such as design of products based on lightweight materials, materials and process development and innovation, high definition part measurement by scanner metrology, thermal management, prototyping and rapid manufacturing. During the last 15 years, SIRRIS has integrated, learned and transferred to the industry various emerging technologies where all those actions have been made possible through the support of public subvention and by the realization of industrial partnerships.
